The Stamford Bridge Players (SBP) have been putting on shows for over 50 years, which is quite a remarkable achievement.
In all, there have been 135 shows listed since SBP first started - some with two plays each night - and they have performed a total of 35 pantomimes as well as a real mixed variety of plays.
The Youth Group was set up in its current format in 2014 when they decided to take on a production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Prior to that, the youth members had only been involved in the pantomimes; however, since then they have completed 13 productions of their own, including two musical shows - "Oz - To the Emerald City and Back" and "Alice Through the Looking Class", plus "Scrooge".
So 50+ years on, the Players are still performing with a very successful pantomime in February 24 - "Babes in the Wood", with 51 people involved, one way or another, in the show!
However, the continued existence of the society depends on a regular supply of new members so if you have any inclination to act, build scenery, produce costumes, help with front of house or even take on the roll of producer, then please get in contact - we are more than happy to see anyone from 8 to 80 (or even more!!) in order to help us continue well into the future.
